Lip Blushing is a treatment that involves implanting pigment beneath the surface layers of the lip with a rotary style tattoo machine. This can be done to enhance lip color to a more desired color, neutralize dark lips, fix asymmetry, or even to camouflage scars. Lip blushing can last anywhere from 2-5 years before needing additional color boosts. This will depend on the color chosen, method of implantation, genetic and environmental factors. Depending on the amount of Titanium Dioxide (white) in your chosen pigment, the colors may last longer than 5 years. I cannot predict your unique fading experience. It is important to remember that PMU is still a tattoo and some part of that pigment will stay in the skin for a lifetime. It will not ever fade entirely. A second session is usually always necessary to ensure good color retention. In some cases (lip neutralization) a third session may be needed. The second session must be done with 3 months of first appointment or an additional fee will be required. The optimal time frame between both appointments is 6-8 weeks after the first appointment to ensure the best results. Allowing more time to pass will create a longer second session because the lips will have faded more.
